Ranigler now ripe for a win

Third place for the woman from Welschnofen in the Parallel Giant Slalom World Cup in Limone
She qualified in the top seven in all three parallel races this season. Carmen Ranigler ended her long dry spell on Saturday.
For the first time since March 2006 she once again stood on the winners' podium as third in a Snowboard World Cup race.
Her first World Cup win for almost seven years (March 2001 in Ruka, Finland) is now long overdue.
Her next opportunity will come as early as Sunday in Nendaz, Switzerland. |

Fourth place for Carmen in the World Cup race in Sölden

A place on the winner's podium in the parallel giant slalom in Sölden was on
the cards, but then Carmen made a front-side mistake in the second semi-final run,
came to a stop and was forced to concede victory to the day's eventual winner,
Marion Kreiner.
"That was a pity; I slipped on an icy section and that was it", said Carmen, who was
disappointed to go out in the semi-final, having raced impressively in qualification,
setting the second fastest time.
With a seventh place finish in Landgraaf (NL) and fourth in Sölden (AUT), C
armen has demonstrated good form this season. |
